Its so dumb that you can use crowbars, not only back to back, to steal your opponents, but also use them immediately after getting them.(especially when items like spyglass don't work like that) Also, because card counting how many redraws and utilities you have is the core of the game, The fire extinguisher randomizing the card throws that off, without explaining it to the player. buckshot rullete but somehow way more luck based
just about to update the game to have a visible graveyard so every card can be accounted for, as well as disallowing crowbars to steal other crowbars in "FAIR" mode.
i love this game a ton, but it can be dumb when he gets 50 crowbars and i get the fire axes, only once did a fire axe help and not beat me down. Took me on my 4th to win.
Arsonate is a game that was inspired by Buckshot Roulette, and it genuinely shows. The animations, play style, and pacing all felt familiar after playing Buckshot for a while now. Not to mention the unusual turns in the story, and the Host's "fairness". Somehow I think I managed to get a glimpse of quite a bit the game has to offer, but I'm not done with this one yet! I may have become the new Host, but the garden has yet to prosper!
Thoroughly enjoyed this and I will definitely be coming back to get the other endings! (I played the GameJolt version (which is apparently a copy), but I'll probably be playing the Itch.io version on my phone in spare time!)
[I was informed that the GameJolt version is not the original, so don't go to that one, the one here on Itch.io is the original Arsonate]
I was looking on GameJolt for games last weekend but I have wanted to play Arsonate, I did find it there as well. Whoever uploaded used the same name as yours, I didn't think much of it since I've seen game devs have their game on both stores (Itch.io and GameJolt) with a different handle. I'll put a link to the GameJolt page here if you haven't already looked into this. I had no idea it wasn't your upload. My next video then I will be playing the version here, as I'm not going to promote someone copying a game. I'll update my logs as well. Glad I could at least bring this to your attention.
I really enjoyed playing this. I love the humor and the style the game has, and it does give a very similar vibe to buckshot roulette, while being mildly different. The only con I can really think of is the lack of items, but the game is still in development and I am excited to see how this game evolves. The developer definitely put a lot of love into this game (and you can tell), so I am certain the end product for this game will be well worth the wait. Thank you for making this game. Here is my play through if anyone wants to see it.
This is a SUPER fun game! I love the concept and the replayability is actually there even though it is a smaller game. Very impressed and will be looking for the full release for my Youtube. Here is my demo playthrough if anyone is interested! :D
This was a cool game that had a rad concept and ran with it! The card game itself is simple to understand with each utility feeling meaningful. Loved the entire atmosphere. From the graphics, sound design, and rising tension with the flames building the background. It feels so satisfying when you're able to steamroll The Host with well-timed item usage, but that's also with the downside of it feeling really awful when he can do it right back to you. I do in fact fear death. Sometimes the RNG just is not in your favor whatsoever. My first game was incredibly unlucky with The Host getting three crowbars, being able to take all the fire extinguishers as soon as I earned them since you can't use an item after you've flipped a card. But like I said, when you get a bit of lady luck on your side and are able to protect your tower efficiently it's a wonderful feeling. Wish I could gloat and rub it in his face haha.
Really really enjoyed this game and I can't wait to see the full version!
If the only card remaining on the opponent's field is his tower, and it's your turn, and you have a gas can, you should be able to use it on his tower for an alternate, more brutal ending imo. Burning all the red spaces immediately around his tower should also confer some advantage? Early win? Forced second turn? But yeah still awesome stuff, success is largely luck but the part you can control (quality) is already nailed
This is insanely cool. I loved Buckshot Roulette too, this made me very happy to play... I like the twist! Will wishlist and buy for same price as buckshot
REALLY COOL GAME. But i think there should be more LORE. And make the game a little bit harder cuz i beat the game first try on the normal difficulty. Either way this game is amazing. 10/10 worth my time.
Love how the back catches fire... Had a suspicion this was inspire by buckshot roulette when I saw the art style! This is very good for me! Looking forward to the multiplayer!
The atmosphere is fine and it has an interesting concept, but the gameplay turned kinda boring to me, the items don't have a lot of strategy, aside from the spyglass, it plays like a waiting game, and becomes tedious very quickly

Honestly, one of the best games of the year in my opinion. It's turning out amazing. Will there be more items in the final game?
maybe a couple more hopefully.
Each one takes a lot of work (Needs model, texture, sfx, logic, host animation, player animation, host strategy logic).
Cursor doesn't reliably point to where it appears to on 21*9 aspect ratio monitors
maaaan.
yeah that makes sense considering the shenanigans im pulling behind the scenes.
Suppose ill look into it. Sry bout that.
Ain't no thing but a chicken wing. Ultrawide early adopters gotta cause problems for devs lol
the host kinda hot thx dev
🤨📷📷📷
the host plays unfair
no shit he only pulled up extinguishers
yes👍
i havent gotten to use one crowbar bruh
aw dangit!
bruh the waffle house has found its new host ahh ending
bro is wafflin

the host is a dubious creature.
idea - lock, it makes it so that the crowbar can’t get a item in one use. need 2 crowbars which is to say the dealer will get
Love this game, really want the full game to come out <3
me too

thx man.
One of the best games I haven't played in a long time. Can't wait for the full release
Hopefully the launch goes well!
This was pretty good. Thanks
not a problem!

Yeah additional items take a bit of time to make because I need models, textures, sfx, logic, and animations for both the Host and player.
But I'm glad you still enjoyed the game!
I LOST BECAUSE I GOT NO FIRE EXTINGUISHERS OR GAS CANS
GAS IS EXPENSIVE!
nice game i win in 15 min the game is perfect
thanks for playing!
i just won because the host got a redraw and thats the only reason i did :/
ay we take those.
This was intense i almost had him but the dude i tough..
lol yea he kinda hard
he really is

it fun!
glad you had fun!
love it, very fun and strategic
thanks!
Really enjoyed the game and the atmosphere. Reminds me of a board game "Fire tower" Execution is also amazing. Lots of potential here.
thanks for playing!

Yeah I'm planning to make a few changes so hopefully the game isn't quite as painful.
this game is amazing
super fun and love the style
glad you had fun!
Superb! You've got a winner on your hands for sure, once a few big streamers catch wind of this.
lol maybe one day eventually.
I got Joe Bartolozzi, but Caseoh remains ELUSIVE.

keep the fire GOING!!!
Keep it up bro, its a nice game ヾ(≧▽≦*)o!!!
thanks for playing!
This is insanely cool. I loved Buckshot Roulette too, this made me very happy to play... I like the twist! Will wishlist and buy for same price as buckshot
thanks!
Will charge pretty much the same amount.
I love it but the crowbar is so unfun when he has it cuz i cant pick any items up
yea planning to remove it's ability to steal other crowbars.
REALLY COOL GAME. But i think there should be more LORE. And make the game a little bit harder cuz i beat the game first try on the normal difficulty. Either way this game is amazing. 10/10 worth my time.
sneak peek for full release (WIP) 👀
If you want more lore, i think this game extends from the same universe that ">HAL_4" takes place in.
Both games make references to the town of "GladderVines", an anagram for "Devils Garden".
Though that game has ceased development due to scope creep, poor execution, and lack of commercial viability.
The demo is still available here on steam.
Love how the back catches fire... Had a suspicion this was inspire by buckshot roulette when I saw the art style! This is very good for me! Looking forward to the multiplayer!
heres hoping!
how do I hide demos from the free games search
¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯
thanks for playing!
GRAAAAAAHHH 🗣🔥🔥🦅
THIS IS MY FAVORITE GAME NOWWWW
Este juego me da muy buenas sensaciones para un gran futuro
Great game, finished fair and normal. Gonna try to k*ll the host and break out of the cabin with the crowbars and other items.
thanks for playing!
The atmosphere is fine and it has an interesting concept, but the gameplay turned kinda boring to me, the items don't have a lot of strategy, aside from the spyglass, it plays like a waiting game, and becomes tedious very quickly
true. hopefully i can figure out something better by release.
Very interesting and fun game, but i think all this Items takes too long to appear and to store, which makes a game too long
yea i get a lot of requests to do somthing abt that.
think ill just slap in a fast forward button lol.
