I loved this game when it was a game jam game, and I love it still now! I cannot wait to see what the full version of the game looks like!

Check it out!

First in the line up. A tense, interesting twist on the game for you life set up. I love the little touch of the fires appearing on the horizon as you play. Looking forward to the full build.

can this version be downloadable?

Great game, original gameplay, you designed your own card system, while inspired in Buckshot Roulette, it did not feel derivative. I can't wait for the full release!

I really enjoyed the game! I really want a physical card version now lol. What are the odds of drawing each utility? I'm just curious to see if I can make a homemade deck at home. Thnx!

Pretty much 1/5 for each one for this build iirc.

Hatchet, Spyglass, Water, Crowbar, Arson.

Personally used poker chips when prototyping the game.

just saw the youtube video showing the after-win screen. does it work on the web?

not yet unfortunately.

That was something I did after game jam submissions closed.

Sry I should've clarified.

Updated the YT video desc to mention that.

Just finished playing was fun. I loved the art and the sound. Here is the feedback i have, 1. i never saw the opponent use a utility (I saw you comment on another person that this was because of lack of time) 2. It would be cool if there was another card that spread the fire randomly because being able to chose where the fire spreads makes the game feel slow and i would feel more under threat if there was a fire by the tower that could randomly burn it down at any time or just more variance in general 3. why would i ever need to get rid of items with the green button it just confused me at first. Other than that i thought it was fun and stressful and loved that you could see the fire spread as cards were turned.

thanks for playing!

(maybe i could use that "random" event for an additional round with a 9x9 board. Was aiming for a 15min playtime like buckshot roulette. Might experiment with that.)

Also I might get rid of the green button. It was originally supposed to allow you to reject utilities if you had a full inventory, but now i just added a trash bin to do that while the lift dismisses automatically.

You can also throw away utilities so the AI can't steal them and get out of a jam.

It might make it more interesting if the ai dosent get items and instead will steal one of yours at random. This would probobly also make the discard more important to the gameplay

hey really love it man very awesome! One thing I noticed (on my side at least) was that the opponent never uses his utilities. would help because some like challenges. maybe adding difficulties and finding out about the utilities would help. love this and will be looking for new games of yours. keep going, man.

Thanks for playing!

Yeah I ran out of time during the Pirate Software Game Jam to make the AI do much.

I have an improved build now but I'll have to wait until the jam is over since file uploads are disabled.

Sounds good! looking forward to playing the remastered!

A really neat little game and experience. Loved the interpretation of the theme and the overall presentation just oozes charm. The level of polish was honestly, top notch.

Kudos my dude. Keep it up

glad you enjoyed!
godlike username btw.

Hi!

This is an incredible game and I really enjoyed it. One bug that I found was that if you are holding a hatchet when you flip your tower card to lose, the card gets flipped but the game continues until you can't flip any more cards and it's softlocked.

YEAH IKR?

I forgot to have the hatchet's validation-check account for Tower Cards.

So it just reprograms the Tower Card to act like a normal fire card,

Overwriting the "Game Over" event that it was supposed to invoke.

Ima just declare that a galaxy-brained victory.

Truly great one, simple to understand and the ambient tension is very well accomplished. Good job.

Great game well done

Honestly, well done!  Ive been hooked on the fire tower stuff alot here lately for some reason.   I really liked the sounds as well, I felt like I was panicking and needed to hurry so you did a great job at introducing stress.  Cant wait to see what else you come up with.

Prime example of how to do Jam games.
Great work, Nash!
